Susan Afterman was born in Australia, educated at the University of Melbourne, and has worked as an architect in Australia, England and Israel. Her first two collections of poetry written in English were published in Australia. In 1981 she immigrated to Israel with her husband. They were among the first settlers in Klil in the Western Galilee. Her two recent books Hee (2011) and Bird Bones (2018) were written in Hebrew and published by Carmel, Jerusalem.
